Small Crochet Coin Purse
Doesn't this daisy remind you of Summer? :) This is an easy pattern for a cute little daisy coin purse! The daisy is a pattern I used from one of my favorite blogs: Repeat Crafter Me. I did, however, change it up a bit to make it a little smaller to fit on the coin purse. I will show you how in the pattern. The coin purse measures about 4 inches across and is about 3 1/2 inches deep. I made mine with cotton yarn but you can also use acrylic. The coin purse is worked in the round and works up pretty quickly.
You will need:
Cotton yarn in any color (I used sugar n cream brand)
G Hook
F Hook (for daisy)
Yarn needle
Button (up to about 3/4 in or smaller)
Let's Begin!
Ch 18
Rd 1: 1 Sc in second Ch from hk and in ea st across (17 sc). Now, working on opposite side of ch - 1 Sc in ea st across, join to first Sc. (34 Sc)
Rd 2: Ch 1, I sc in same St as join and in ea St around, join to first Sc (34 Sc)
Rd 3-14: Repeat Rd 2, do not fasten off. Start on flap below.
Flap:
Row 1: Ch 1, turn, 1 Sc in ea St across back side (17 Sc)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, Sc in ea St across (17 Sc)
Row 3-11: Repeat row 2
Row 12: Ch 1, turn, sc in next 7, Ch 3, Skip next 3 Sts, Sc in next St and next 6 Sts. Fasten off and weave in ends. (The Ch 3 on this row will be used as a closure loop for the button)
Daisy:
I found the original pattern for the daisy Here at my favorite blog Repeat Crafter Me! She is amazing and I am always referring to her blog for new ideas! Her daisy pattern was a little large for my coin purse so I adjusted it a little. Here's what I did:
I used a size F hook and I basically skipped her first Rd and made the petals shorter. But the effect of the beautiful daisy is relatively the same.
Rd 1: 12 Sc in a magic ring.
Rd 2: *Ch 6, Dc in 4th Ch from hk, Hdc in next, sc in next, join with a Sl St in next St* repeat from * around.
You should end up with 12 sweet little petals on your daisy! Beautiful!! Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew daisy to front flap of your coin purse.
Enjoy your new daisy coin purse!
