Jack Skellington Pixel Art

Fall has arrived!  And with the fall comes Halloween!  I have recently tried my hand at crocheting pixel graphs and I have to admit, I have quickly gotten addicted!  My kids are into The Nightmare Before Christmas movie and Jack Skellington is all my son talks about lately.. :) So I've decided to make him a Jack Skellington pillow. I like smaller projects rather than large ones so I opted out of making him a graphghan. However, I was disappointed in the lack of pixel graphs for my small project and decided to make one of my own. I don't have a downloadable version of this yet but I am posting the pixel graph here. (You can see it above). It is 29x30 pixel squares and I am using the popular c2c method that Sarah used over at www.repeatcrafterme.com. I will post my finished project here as well, just wanted to share the graph so you can start your own if interested!  Enjoy!

Springtime Lip Balm Cozy

These cute little lip balm cozies are perfect for spring!  I made these with a craft fair in mind when I was trying to come up with cute ideas for small crochet items that would appeal to grown-ups and kids alike.  These work up really quickly so it's easy to make up a few in no time at all!  AND, it's a fantastic way to use up scrap yarn!  They are worked in continuous rounds with no joining and the little button closure adds a perfect finishing touch!  Hope you enjoy this little pattern! :)

Let's begin!

Materials:
G hook
Cotton yarn in any color (I used Lily sugar n cream yarn)
Yarn needle
Button (about 3/4 in)

Rd 1: 4 sc in a magic ring - do not join
Rd 2: 2 sc in ea st around (8sc)
Rd 3: 2 sc in 1st, 1 sc in next, *2sc in next, 1 sc in next* rep from * around (12 sc)
Rd 4 - 17: 1 sc in ea st around, sl st in next st and turn - do not fasten off - continue on flap below (12 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, Sc in next 6 sts, turn (6 sc)
Row 3-5: Repeat row 2 (6 sc)
Row 6: Ch 2 (counts as 1st Dc), Dc in next st, Ch 2, skip 2 sts, Dc in next 2 sts, turn (4 Dc and 2 Chs) (please note: this row will act as your button hole)
Row 7: Ch 1, Sc in first 2 sts, 2 Sc in ch-2 sp, 1 sc in last 2 sts (6 sc)

Fasten off.  Weave in ends and attach button. Easy Peasy! <3
