Crocheted Ipad Mini Strap for the Car

We are always watching movies at our house and sometimes the kids get restless in the car.  I don't have a DVD player in my van but I do have an iPad mini.  I bought an Otter Box case for my iPad mini a while back (worth every penny because I have five kids - no explanation necessary!) and the Otter Box has a snap-on back that also acts as a stand.  Anyway, I was looking at my case and thought I could make a little strap for the iPad so that I could attach it to the back of my seat and the kids can watch movies in the car!  I felt like a genius!  So..if you have an iPad with an Otter Box like I do (not sure if it will work with other cases but you can try..) then you can make this too!  It's so simple!

What you need:

Cotton Yarn in any color
Size G / 6 - 4.25 mm crochet Hook
Yarn Needle
3/4 inch Button

The headrest in my van measures about 27 inches at it's widest point.  My finished strap measures about 30 inches and is adjustable.

Let's Begin!

Ch 100

Row 1: TRC in 4th Ch from hook, TRC in next st and in next 8 Sts, DC in next st and in every st across.  Fasten off.  Weave in ends. (10 TRC including 1st 3 chs you skipped and 87 DC)

Sew a button securely near the end of the DC side of your strap.  The TRC's act as the adjustable part of your strap.

Now I just wrapped the strap around the snap-on back of my Otter Box, snapped the iPad in and attached it to the headrest and voila!  Movies on the go!  :)
